Shep Wolsey – Owner/ Cutting Specialist
Shep a Utah native, attended college for several years majoring in business before deciding to attend Von Curtis cosmetology school. After graduating, Shep moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work and train at the prestigious Van Michael Salon. After being away for a time, Shep decided to return home and work at a Provo salon for nearly 3 years in preparation for opening Shep Studio in 2001. Continued education has always been vital to Shep’s philosophy. He has trained extensively at Vidal Sassoon Acadamy in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Bumble and Bumble and Redken 5th Avenue in New York City, and Toni and Guy in Dallas. Shep is a prominent hair cutting educator and holds weekly classes for his staff as well as regularly teaching at local salons and schools. He continues to work full time behind the chair in addition to running the salon. Shep has a real passion for cycling and modern design and loves spending time with his wife Tracy and their beautiful daughters Grace and Ava.
Patrick Hoyal – Stylist since 2002
Patrick has been an integral part of Shep Studio since 2002, after graduation from Paul Mitchell The School in Provo. Originally from Orem, Patrick has become a regular educator at local schools as well as teaching weekly cutting classes at the salon with Shep. He has continued his education with training at Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica and Bumble & bumble in New York. Patrick enjoys music and plays bass and guitar, in addition to being a horror movie aficionado. His flair for vintage style has inspired both his work and his facial hair.
Lexi Allred – Stylist since 2008/Color Specialist
Lexi grew up in Provo and knew from a young age she wanted to be a hair stylist, as she was greatly influenced by her mom who has been doing hair for over 20 years. Lexi attended Renaissance Hair Academy and started at Shep Studio after graduation. In just a few short years, she has become the color specialist and works with Shep as the colorist for the majority of his clients. She also teaches color classes to the rest of the staff in addition to teaching at local schools. Lexi enjoys exercise and the outdoors, and also loves baking and Diet Coke.
Stephanie Allred – Stylist since 2008
Stephanie grew up in Springville and began cosmetology school at Renaissance Hair Academy while still in high school. She began at Shep Studio in 2008 and has become both a busy stylist and color educator. Stephanie loves to ski, play volleyball, run, and enjoys cooking and traveling. Stephanie is married to Lexi’s brother, Corbin, and they live in Orem.
Twix Petersen – Stylist since 2008
Twix is a local boy, born and raised in Provo. He attended Paul Mitchell The School and started at Shep Studio right after graduation. His hobbies include music, bicycling, motorcycles, and snowboarding.
Siara Christensen – Stylist since 2008
Siara is originally from Portland, Oregon, and moved to Provo in 2003 to attend Brigham Young University. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Art History and Curatorial Studies, Siara decided she wanted to be a hair stylist. She was a client of the salon during her college years, and was offered an apprenticeship by Shep. After completing her training at Shep Studio she become a full-time stylist. Siara loves museums, art, Paris (and all things French), makeup, and spending time with her husband, Tyler.
Sydney Duke – Stylist since 2009
Sydney was raised in American Fork and attended Renaissance Hair Academy in Provo. You will not meet a more die-hard Real Salt Lake soccer fan, or a more avid animal lover than our believed Sydney. She and her husband, Jordan, live in Provo with their dog and two cats.
Candice Preisendorf – Stylist since 2009
Candice is from Lehi and attended Taylor Andrews in Orem before starting at Shep Studio. She is our only natural redhead at the salon, and likes exercise, movies, candy, learning, and spending time with her family and husband, Jess.
Chanel Dawson – Stylist since 2009
Chanel grew up in Las Vegas and came to Provo to attend Paul Mitchell The School. She had experience at a salon in Vegas before eventually coming to work at Shep Studio. Chanel enjoys photography, fashion, and the outdoors. She is married to another Shep Studio member, David, and they live in Orem.
David Dawson – Stylist since 2010
David is originally from Vacaville, California, and attended Renaissance Hair Academy in Provo. He likes to trail run and enjoys staying active and healthy. His other interests include fashion and spending time with his wife and fellow stylist, Chanel.
Chelsea Oldroyd – Stylist since 2011
Chelsea was born and raised in Provo and attended Utah Valley University before attending Paul Mitchell The School. Her hobbies are baking, reading, running, and cross-stitch. She also loves any treats with peanut butter.
Brenna Alius – Stylist since 2011
Brenna grew up in Provo and attended MATC in Spanish Fork. She loves to run, has completed several half marathons, lifts weights, and likes to stay active. She also enjoys reading and writing.
Elise Gubler – Stylist since 2012
Elise is from Orem and graduated from BYU with a degree in Home and Family Living before attending Renaissance Hair Academy. She enjoys healthy cooking, skiing, cycling, singing, and hanging out with her family.
